Oh lord... this one's so old. But I still love it so much. Mostly the wolf. I couldn't do humans for ANYTHING back then. From the old deviation, cause I still feel this way:
Prismacolor Pencils on Grey-Blue watercolor paper.
Rarely do I do fan art, (though in the past week I\'ve done a couple more pieces, which you\'ll see later, when they\'re done), but nothing could compare to this piece. I started this back in 2004, but never got around to finishing it. I picked it up on and off, but as soon as I came to a part I was unsure of, I\'d drop it for long periods of time. I\'ve learned a lot from this piece, though. Shading, lighting, contrast, and how to do realistic wolf eyes. I\'m still awful with humans, but I\'m learning. Though in the near future you\'ll see a tad bit more fan art from me, this was done back when fan art was almost a total \'no\'. Still, I just HAD to do a picture of Princess Mononoke. It was like it was calling to me... and so I answered it. The soundtrack, the movie... EVERYTHING made me just itch with an artistic urge; I guess this is my way of giving back to such an inspirational movie. What can I say? Miyazaki is god.
The wolf is one of the blueish colored ones (the younger \'ups\', though he\'s much bigger in the picture than the movie; I\'m aware of this. If there is anything that\'s not REALLY major that\'s just totally distracting, please speak up, (especially when it comes to the lighting) and I might go back and fix it when I get time. It\'s always nice to get a bit of crit. Believe it or not, I really do listen and apply the crit I get.
Princess Mononoke/San and the Wolf is Hayao Miyazaki\'s The art is mine. PLEASE, do not use this. It means a lot to me. Thanks.
Oh, wow. That is simply beautiful! The colours are stunning, and the wolf's eyes are so expressive! And despite what you said in the description, I think you drew San wonderfully. Gorgeous work! ^-^

This is beautiful! You did very well on the lighting and the wolf.

These eyes will deceive you, they will destroy you. They will take from you, your innocence, your pride, & eventually your soul. These eyes do not see what you & I see. Behind these eyes one finds only blackness. These are the eyes of a psychopath.
